Meet Your Instructor
Alec Lowe is a self taught drummer who started at age 12.
Alec fell in love, and by 14 he had thousands of hours of practice under his belt, and was touring internationally and teaching his own drum lessons.
By learning drums himself, he was able to avoid the boring classical pitfalls of most private lesson teachers. With his own teaching method, Alec is able to keep students, on average, far more engaged. Coupled with over 16 years of teaching experience, Alec knows how to respond to students' needs.
Aside from teaching, he has spent years from an early age in recording studios and touring with 50+ artists such as Tanner Adell, Madilyn Paige, Lexi Walker, and Jessica Baio.
Alec has played in orchestras, marching bands, he knows how to win college scholarship auditions, and he holds a degree in music composition. He currently composes for commercials in his own recording studio for his label at Warner-Chappell. His compositions have been played regularly on NBC and the NBA.
All this to say: no matter your musical goals, Alec can help achieve it
FAQs
How Much Does It Cost?
$40/lesson, billed monthly. This comes out to $160 on most months that have 4 weeks, and $200 on rare months that have 5 weeks.
What If We Miss A Class?
No prob-
Alec has great flexibility and gives the benefit of the doubt. Cancellations 48 hours+ in advance are considered excused. Any sicknesses or emergency is also 100% excused with no notice.
Excused absences are usually converted into a makeup lesson, but can also be converted into a lesson credit for the following month.
My Child Is Brand New!

Most students who join lessons are. They are in great hands with Alec; he's a World Class drum instructor who is also great with younger students. He's patient, supportive, encouraging, and our students and parents love him!
They'll have a great time in this class- it doesn't push younger students too hard; just enough to keep them engaged, moving their hands, training their ears, and using their brain.
You can listen in and watch the free trial lesson and you'll get a really good feel for the supportive, encouraging environment Alec sets for his students 🙂
My Child Isn't A Beginner...
Awesome!
A lot of students come in already having some music experience from piano, and some might even have been playing drums.
During the intro/trial session, Alec will get a sense of how far along your child is and find a good starting point for you that isn't too easy 🙂👍

All of Alec's lessons are taught in-person at Dave Wilbur's Rock Lab, in Orem UT.
